Your new chapter begins here!

Creativity, meditation and ritual appear in many guises. Our retreat has been created to provide a bridge not only to an inspiring natural world but to a new road within. Through our Rituals (Thinking, Writing, Feeling, and Making) we aim to connect and awake attention through our senses to provide new perceptions via a carefully curated programme of; creative classes, movement practices, workshops, traditional teachings, ancient health rituals, gatherings and food setting experiences. Alongside our intimate programme you are invited to rest and indulge in moments of stillness and natural beauty, in a space where you can make time to ground yourself, allowing room for exploration with yourself to uncover unknown parts within. Begin your New Year by diving into new ways of being, new habits, new rituals, new ways of thinking, new ways of feeling and tap into creativity and an internal creative process you might not have experienced before. This is an invitation to you into to enter the process of surrender.

Meet Catriona, your host

With a 13 year creative design background, love of hosting and a curiosity about cultures and their teachings, Catriona welcomes you to what she calls her ‘spiritual home’ where she invites you to share her way of life and meet her community of professionals who will help you connect with your inner landscape through the art of slow living, inspired by what ritual has to offer.

The retreat will be held at El Triángulo, which is located in Mazunte, a small, sleepy small village nestled on the Pacific coastline of Mexico. The remote village has been an astrological viewing point and sacred site since ancient times and is recognized as one of Mexico’s “pueblos mágicos”.

El Triángulo has been carefully and intentionally chosen by Catriona as a hosting space on account of its natural design and construction. The principles used within the building reflect Catriona’s curiosity about the role the environment has to play on our health. This stems from a combination of her background in architecture and interior design and a series of tragic life events that have been the foundational catalyst for the philosophy behind The Morning Ritual. El Triángulo is a leading example of how natural construction can be an elevating and luxury experience and is an inspiration for her own project, called Casa Arcilla, ‘House of Clay’. Read more about Casa Arcilla here.

El Triángulo acts as a progressive teaching in its own right, an architectural example we can all aspire to. Read more about El Triángulo here.

The Writing Ritual, Catriona

The foundational practice of the retreat will be in-person teachings from our alternative meditation, the Writing Ritual. Catriona will lead the creative and specially honed writing exercises that appear in our online course, while bringing our intimate group together to share her insights and power that writing as a ritual exerts on our emotional health. Based on her many years of writing through her own ritual, exposure to ancient meditation practices such as Vipassana and her own education under what she has learnt from creative writing courses by others, she has designed a unique and accessible experience for anyone to enjoy.

As with any other meditation practice, the Writing Ritual serves to develop the quality of your attention within your everyday life.

The Feeling Ritual, Jimena

Jimena’s expertise lies in conscious bodywork, offering useful practices to build health awareness, meaning and connection with our own selves. She has worked, studied and practised for 13 years in therapeutic yoga, somatic bodywork, Hatha and restorative yoga and has been involved in physical rehabilitation practices and many retreats. Her unique personal method, leads with a basis that embraces the exploration of movement, comprehension of functional anatomy and development of healthy body strategies. Her technique is a beautiful invitation into personal development by expressing, perceiving and connecting with who we are through the body we inhabit. What to Expect:
  • Management of breath
  • Balance of mobility and strength
  • Importance of restoration and relaxation
  • Self massage techniques
  • Regulation of the nervous system
  • Meditation techniques
  • Yoga
  • Movement
  • Joint and musculoskeletal hygiene
  • Miofascial release techniques

The Thinking Ritual, Toño

Toño specialises in health and neurolinguistics and will run a workshop within our programme focussing on techniques developed in neurolinguistics.

Neurolinguistics is the study of how language is represented in the brain: how and where our brains store our knowledge of the language that we speak, understand, read, and write, what happens in our brains as we acquire that knowledge, and what happens as we use it in our everyday lives. It is a method, a human technology which we use to understand the internal maps we create from reality and experience. Reality could be represented in words, shapes, frequencies, sounds, and more to express the way we process the information of the environment and how we generate an internal map that later is going to have a direct impact in our behaviour and decision making.
